Born in 1958 he is currently professor of History of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts.
He is a specialist in 19th and 20th Century Italian Sculpture and was nominated member of the commission for the purchase of works of art for the collection of the Chamber of Deputies, at the XII and XIII Quadrennial of Rome (1996 and 1999) and at the XLVII and XLVIII Biennial of Venice (1997 and 1999). He is the author and curator of numerous exhibitions and publications. The most recent include The new dictionary of 19th and early 20th Century Italian sculptors. From Antonio Canova to Arturo Martini (2003). It was awarded the prize for culture in 2004 by the Council of Ministers. He has also written: Eternal Athletes.
